Smoothies & Sawdust

When going through a major life transition, such as moving into a house 1,800 miles away from a coast you’ve called your home for the past 20+ years, it helps to have good food to nourish your mind, body and soul. I truly believe the food we put into our bodies affects our mood, our energy, our well-being (physically and mentally).

Let food be thy medicine, and medicine be thy food. – Hippocrates

So, when we moved and found ourselves in a home that needed a major kitchen overhaul, it was a lot harder to eat properly, especially for breakfast. Starting the day with a mouth full of carbs or sugary cereal has never been our thing. But, to eat something filling, quick, not to mention easy as to avoid the sawdust….tricky!

When the kitchen finally became usable, I couldn’t wait to whip out some smoothie goodness. Smoothies are such a great way to pack a huge nutritional punch. And are super easy & quick to make!

Before the sawdust settled, I had my ninja blender out.
